Apple’s latest iPhone models have seen a 20% sales increase in China during their first three weeks of launch compared to the 2023 versions, according to data from Counterpoint Research. This strong start, particularly for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, highlights Apple’s continued appeal in the highly competitive Chinese market. Sales for these models alone surged 44% compared to their 2023 counterparts.
Despite the success of the new models, overall iPhone sales in China dropped 2% year-on-year due to declining sales of older models and increased competition from domestic brands like Huawei, which launched its Mate and Pura series at the same time. This competition marks a crucial period for Apple as it strives to regain market share in the world’s largest smartphone market.
